Time is really flying fast. Not so long ago, Nintendo’s Game Boy used to be the king of portable gaming. Then roughly a decade ago, in the not so distant past came the new king of gaming, Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP). Though there are improved versions of these two gadgets nowadays, smartphones are competing heavily and with flying colors. Apple’s iPhone 4, probably the most famous smartphone today has a lot of games to choose from. CNET even ranked it 4 out of 5 stars, the same rank as the PSP.
This coming March, expect Motorola Atrix to be a serious competitor to iPhone 4 in terms of being a gaming device. With the help of NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz dual core processor, it makes gaming experience a lot faster and better. Also, Atrix has a 4 inch LCD screen compared to the 3.5 inch of iPhone and 4.3 inch of PSP 3000 (the 0.3 inch difference is barely felt by the users). In terms of capacity, both smartphone has 16GB / 32GB flash drive. On the other hand, iPhone 4 is known for being the smartphone with the highest resolution at 640 x 960; Atrix is not that far at 540 x 960. While you may think that Apple won that category, the size of the screen makes it almost impossible for you to spot the slight difference.
Portability wise, both devices are good. What makes Atrix really special for gamers is the dock (both the laptop and multimedia desktop PC). As soon as you arrive home, just simply place your phone at the dock of your choice and you are all set to continue playing. Obviously, this is not an option for people who own iPhone 4.
Apple iPhone may be the one who pioneered the smartphone craze but it is Motorola Atrix who will change the landscape of technology in every aspect imaginable.
