If you will be asked to give just one reason why you want to own a Motorola Atrix, we would probably hear just two words as an answer. It is none other than “Laptop Dock”. It is the evolutionary device that became the center of attention at Consumers Electronics Show (CES) 2011. Come to think of it, this concept is very simple yet no company other than Motorola had made it into reality.
This Laptop Dock only measures 13.9 millimeters thin. Just try to look at it and you will see how much it appears to be like Apple’s Macbook Air. It contains complete functional island-style keyboard and has approximately 12-15 inch LCD display. On the downside, this dock cannot function without the Atrix; making it more of a dock rather than a laptop. The battery runs on the range of 8 to 10 hours before it completely shuts down.
The release date of the Atrix Dock is still a mystery to everyone. Some are saying that the smartphone will be available first before the dock, while some are claiming that it will be released at the same time as the Atrix. Although there have been rumors circulating that March 1st is the release date, Motorola promised that it will definitely be available first quarter of this year. Unfortunately, only U.S.A., Canada, and U.K. will get the chance to experience it first. It is said to be priced at $150, a very reasonable amount that cost as much as half as other netbooks available in the market.
See for yourself this coming March if it’s really worth all the hype.
